Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is a skills-based training that teaches parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors and health and human services workers and any other adult how to identify, understand and respond to an adolescent (ages 12- 18) who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge.
Learners will complete a 2-hour, self-paced online course and participate in a 5.5 hour instructor-led training on Zoom. Those who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion as a Certified Youth Mental Health First Aider that is valid for three years from the completion date of training.
